3D Design

Modeling and Animation for Medical, Mechanical, and Character Development

When creating successful 3D models, the project type and purpose are the first things to observe. Identifying what the models will be used for is important for developing the style and also determining what techniques will be used to create it.

Please feel free to explore the different types of 3D models below and how they have been used for various interactive projects.

Heart Interactive Controlled Application

A good example of what medical models can be used for. The user has the ability to study, rotate, and even take apart this real time 3D generated heart. The same technique can be used for any model, medical, or mechanical device.

Eye Exploration

Medical video that shows the inner workings of the human eye

Interactive Avatar Controls
Make him run, jump, and a host of other animated controls
Avatars for pre-rendered games
This is similar to the avatars used on our Chamber of Chat

The following 3D renderings and terrains were built especially for each project. You can also visit the wallpapers section as all the environment renderings are free to download.

Whether the models are mechanical or medical, having the control to view different areas of the model has a number of advantages over still images.  These models are often used for medical studies/educational items, tools used by doctors to provide information to patients, FDA related material, and a general understanding of how a medical device works.

3D Model of "The Appliance" was created from several photographs. A special player and video were also created for the project.

Another useful medical tool is showing an animated self running demonstration of a medical object or even tool in the form of a video.

This is an example of a very low polygon real-time true 3D controlled avatar.

Fine detail is even important with simple styled avatars.
