LE 4E DUEL (Multi User Game Quiz & TV Show)

Challenge:

Support the French game design company “Gerwin Software” on the French online (multi player) derivative of the ABC TV show called DUEL (In French “LE 4E DUEL”).


Solution:

We Implemented solid game logic into a secure fashion by extending the online multi-player platform of SmartFoxServer with JAVA.


LE 4E DUEL is also featured on the SmarFoxServer Showcase!


SmartFoxServer was the primary multi user technology and is extended with JAVA. Extending the capabilities of existing technologies provides an entire range of new solutions and possibilities.


In LE 4E DUEL players fight with quizzes. A single question with multiple answers is asked to both contestants, they have 15 seconds to answer (they can pick several answers).

 

Players answer separately and concurrently; Additionally, they can't see what their opponent is selecting. At the end (both answered or timer ended), their responses are revealed. As long as both players answer correctly, new questions are submitted. If a player fails to answer correctly, they are eliminated from the contest and the other player becomes the champion.



Each Player has a certain number of "jokers" that are used to stress their opponent. As an example they can urge their opponent to answer in the 5 next seconds.
